2-1-1

For more than 30 years Information and Referral (I & R) services have helped people find answers. The need for this service is continuously growing and we have now made it easier for those who need answers to their questions. There is now no need to try and remember a seven digit phone number because those who have needs can get connected to I & R by simply dialing 2-1-1. Our 2-1-1 service has been operational since November of 2003. Central Ohio residents have immediate access to this service.

2-1-1 is an easy to remember and universally recognized telephone number that makes a critical connection between those in need and the appropriate community-based organizations and government agencies.

I & R services are the link between people and community organizations. With so many nonprofit organizations and many government agencies, many people can find it challenging to navigate the maze of community resources. I & R specialists listen to the callers needs and will determine the best service provider that is available. I & R services maintain comprehensive and up-to-date databases of resources, including federal, state and local government agencies, community-based organizations, and private non-profit organizations. Our database contains more than 5,000 programs and services and 2,100 on-going volunteer opportunities at more than 900 non-profit, government and healthcare organizations.
