BOARDLINK connects volunteers interested in serving on the governing or advisory board of a nonprofit to a collection of over 800 organizations in Franklin County. We also work with nonprofit agencies on a case-by-case basis to help them manage and develop productive boards.

In connecting professionals and nonprofit organizations, the process works like this:

  1. Professionals complete and submit the on-line form. This information then becomes part of the BOARDLINK database.
  2. Nonprofit organizations receive basic profile information of all database registrants once per quarter.
  3. If an organization is interested in an individual to fill a specific board seat, it requests and receives the individual's complete resume (as electronically submitted to BOARDLINK).
  4. The organization then directly contacts the individual and presents its board opportunity.
Organizations should contact prospective board members at their earliest convenience, as these individuals may be in demand by other organizations.
  • If you are a professional interested in becoming a BOARDLINK member, simply complete the on-line form below. If you have further questions about the program, please call 221-6766 ext. 119 or e-mail training@firstlink.org.
  • If you currently serve on the board of a nonprofit organization and are interested in enhancing your administrative skills, you may find our training series useful.
