Make a Kit!
For your Home or Office your kit should contain the following items that should last for 72 Hours:
  • Water (a three-to-five-day supply or one gallon per person per day)
  • Canned or Dried Food that will not spoil and requires no cooking.
  • Manual Can Opener.
  • A well stocked First Aid Kit. (The kit should be checked every three months.)
  • Battery-powered or Hand-cranked Emergency Radio.
  • Cell Phones, with charged spare batteries.
  • Flashlights or Battery-powered Lanterns, with charged spare batteries.
  • Prescription Medicine, if needed daily.
  • Personal care items for infants or elderly.
  • Extra Blankets and spare bedding, i.e. sleeping bags.
For your Car your kit should contain the following items:
  • Water (a three-to-five-day supply or one gallon per person per day)
  • Canned or Dried Food that will not spoil and requires no cooking.
  • Manual Can Opener.
  • A well stocked First Aid Kit. (The kit should be checked every three months.)
  • Emergency Blanket.
  • Extra Money, as ATMs and Banks may not be available until after the emergency.
